WAIVERS
ARBYS uses a blind-bid waiver process during the regular season and postseason. Bids process every day at 11 a.m. EST. The highest bid wins the player and becomes his new Player Contract salary. Tie bids go to the team that is lowest in the standings at that time.
Teams may bid as much money as they have left under the Salary Cap + any contracts they plan to drop. No team may take on any contract that takes their Total Team Salary over the ARBYS Salary Cap. Any winning bid that would take a team over their Salary Cap will be rejected by Fantrax, and the next-highest bid will win the player and become his new Player Contract salary.
Bids are NOT proxy-style, meaning the winning bidder pays their full bid in salary. Example: Team A bids $10M on Jrue Holiday, while Team B bids $7M. Team A wins Holiday and signs him to a $10M Player Contract.
Dropped players will remain on waivers for at least 24 hours.
Players claimed and then dropped the same day will not return to waivers.
EXAMPLE:
Team A wants to pick up Tyreke Evans who is having a career year, but interest in Evans is high. Team A wants to bid $11 million on his contract, but they only have $2 million in Salary Cap space. In the blind bid screen, Team A would then enter $11 for the bid on Evans, and also select a player(s) to drop whose salaries equal at least $9 million (the difference in Team A’s cap space and the bid on Evans).
If Team A has the highest bid, they will win Evans and the player(s) selected to be dropped will be removed from their team.
If Team A did not drop enough salary to add what they bid on Evans, then Evans will be awarded to the next-highest bidder as long as their bid was legal.
FCFS FREE AGENCY
Players unclaimed through waivers at 11 a.m. EST each day become First-Come-First-Serve free agents until the start of the first game of the day. All free agents then lock until the following days’ waiver processing time at 11 a.m. EST. *Note: Players lock for waivers at the start of the first game of the day, not the start of their own game.
FCFS free agents with a Player Contract still retain their salary, and may only be signed by teams with enough Salary Cap space.
